Yes Cacao Bars
A while back, a company contacted me and asked me if I would like to try their cacao and review it. Thinking they mean cacao POWDER, I said "Sure!" because I already use cacao powder in my green smoothie bowls and various other recipes. I didn't realize (until the package arrived today), that they were sending me cacao chocolate bars not powder!

The bars (3 different flavors) came in a special cool pack, which sadly was not cool by the time it reached my home in sweltering Texas. The bars melted ever so slightly, but this did not affect the taste or consistency at all.

Apparently, the main premise of Yes Cacao Botanical Chocolate Bar is to use raw, organic wild cacao as a vehicle to deliver various healthy botanicals (organic herbs, teas, flowers, and superfoods) into your system. Each bar has a purpose and specially chosen botanicals are added to each formula. Since cacao has theobromine (which causes your blood vessels to expand), you're getting the intended benefits easily while you're enjoying a smooth and creamy chocolate bar .VERY interesting concept!

In addition, this wild cacao is an heirloom variety of cacao known as Arriba Criollo, which is sourced by a team of 450 wild harvesters throughout the jungles of Ecuador. There are three different "flavors" to try -- Dirty (Grounding), Karma Mel Owl (Brain Food), and Gaba Baba (Meditation) -- each with its own combination of ingredients. The bars are also vegan, gluten-free, and Kosher. At $5 a bar, they are on the higher end price-wise, but this is not your average chocolate bar!

All in all, I thought the bars were tasty and the texture of the cacao was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. My husband even liked them pretty well, and I'd say he's a chocolate connoisseur.  😀

The chocolate bars were sent to me free to try without any conditions on how I write this review. I am not receiving any other compensation for this review.
